COSHH Awareness

This course is designed to give an introduction to Hazardous Substances in the workplace, the law in regards to hazardous substances, the potential effects and routes of entry into the body, and how we can minimise the risks associated with them.

In this module you will learn to:

• Understand the term hazardous substance
• Identify and understand the substance classifications
• Identify and understand the forms hazardous substances take
• Understand and identify routes of entry and the associated risks
• Understanding warning labels and the new CLP regulations

In this module you will learn to:

• Understand hazardous substances and the law
• Understand employer duties and responsibilities
• Understand own duties and responsibilities
• Understand enforcement and penalties in relation to hazardous substances

Controlling the risks of COSHH

In this module you will learn to:

• Be able to understand COSHH assessments and what should be included

• Understand the hierarchy of risk control

• Be able to identify and understand Personal Protective Equipment
