Our experts
Learning from the best.
Respected icons, accomplished practitioners and specialist organisations, brought inside the apprenticeship as demonstrations, masterclasses, resources and practical challenges. Expertise in the learning itself, alongside the coach who makes it work.

Chapter one · Culinary
The Academy of Culinary Excellence
Inspired by Marco Pierre White
Precision, discipline and respect for the craft.
Pride in craft, and the belief that the person cooking for someone in care deserves the same standard as the person cooking for a critic. Marco wanted the next generation of chefs taught properly, wherever they cook.
Our flagship. In 2026 TLC joined forces with one of the most influential chefs in British culinary history to launch the next generation of chef apprenticeships: Production Chef, Senior Production Chef and Senior Culinary Chef at Levels 2, 3 and 4.
The Academy brings the standard: Marco’s seven principles, the Learning Collection (eight volumes, eighty-one chapters, every page in his voice), masterclasses, an audience with Marco for every cohort, and Marco Pierre White accreditation at the end of every programme. TLC brings the apprenticeship itself, delivered in kitchens from care homes to contract caterers across England, where a good meal is part of someone’s dignity.

Chapter two · Wellbeing
The Academy of Beauty and Wellbeing
Inspired by Lino Carbosiero
Confidence you can see.
The chair is where confidence is built, for the client and for the stylist. Lino wanted hairdressing taught the way he learned it: by watching the best, then doing it, then doing it again.
Our work with Lino Carbosiero brings the same expert-led ambition into hairdressing and beauty. The Academy connects technical development with creativity and professional standards, and with the part of the craft that matters most to the person in the chair: helping people feel confident and valued.
It is the foundation of the hair and beauty programmes in our Wellbeing sector, alongside the Community Health and Wellbeing Worker and Event Assistant apprenticeships.

Chapter three · Safeguarding
Safeguarding with the NSPCC
Keeping people safe
“Safeguarding legislation is always changing. Our learners need to explore the complex and emerging issues, not only the ones in the standard.”
Safeguarding is too important to be taught from a slide deck. The organisation that knows it best should shape how the people who practise it are trained.
Alongside our Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer apprenticeship, TLC learners can access specialist safeguarding learning through our partnership with the NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity: e-learning, on-demand masterclasses, instructor-led virtual training and live insight webinars, across sport, education and care.
Topics range from safer recruitment and keeping children safe online to managing allegations, understanding neglect and the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, so the people holding multi-agency responsibility in your organisation are never learning from last year’s guidance.

Chapter four · Health and social care
Learn Care Excel
Promoting excellence, supporting people
The whole experience of care, as one.
Care education with depth, written by people who have done the job, so a learner on a night shift is taught as well as a learner in a classroom.
Our specialist care-learning offer connects knowledge with the reality of supporting people. It lets us build richer resources and professional learning beyond the boundaries of a single apprenticeship: food, personal presentation, meaningful activity, movement, wellbeing, safeguarding and leadership, treated as one experience of care.
The purpose is to improve people’s lives, and to develop care teams whose work shows in the everyday dignity of the people they support.

Chapter five · Education
NUPAF Educators
Excellence in teaching
A recognisable standard of professional capability.
The quality of an apprenticeship is the quality of its teaching. NUPAF exists to make teaching excellence the foundation, for our coaches and for the sector.
Our teaching-excellence company extends the vision into developing teaching assistants, teachers and educational leaders. The ambition is for the NUPAF name to become a trusted indicator of professional capability, supported by rigorous training and demonstrated practice.
It is where we invest in our own learning coaches too, so the people teaching TLC apprentices are held to the same standard as the apprentices themselves.

Chapter six · Technology
Technology with an educational purpose
New ideas, human oversight
Tools that strengthen the human support.
A tool that does not help a learner or a coach does not go in. We build our own so the technology serves the learning, with a human in charge of every decision that matters.
We use technology to improve access, personalise support and help educators understand progress, and never to remove the relationships that help learners succeed. Sonoro AI helps us identify, develop and evaluate advanced learning technology against global educational standards; StreamLearn is the platform our learners learn on; 360 Safeguarding sits behind how we keep people safe; Sonoro Publishing carries our own books and recorded expertise.
All of it meets in TLC Base, the one place where learners, employers and our team come together.
The tools we have builtAwarding bodies & regulators
The people who hold us to a standard you can audit.
Not every partnership is about growth. Some are about accountability. These organisations approve, inspect and assess TLC’s work, and every claim on this website is one they can verify.
